When to buy a laptop for less
Updated : July 2026
A laptop isn't the same price in July and September. Buying at the right time can save you €100–300 on an equivalent model. Here's when to buy a laptop.
The best periods
- Back to school (late August – September): the most competitive period for laptops, with many student offers.
- Black Friday & Cyber Monday: among the biggest computing discounts of the year. See Black Friday 2026.
- Winter sales (January): clearance of models launched in autumn.
Target the previous generation
New processors launch early in the year. When a new generation arrives, previous models — plenty for office work, web and studies — see their price drop. Often the best value for money.
Don't trust the "was" price
Advertised computing discounts are sometimes cosmetic. Always compare to the real price of past months via the price history, and across several retailers.
The right method
