2026 sales: summer and winter dates, and real deals
Updated : July 2026
Seasonal sales remain a strong moment to buy cheaper — provided you can tell a real markdown from a cosmetic "was" price. Here are the 2026 sales dates and the right method.
2026 dates (France)
- Summer sales: June 24 to July 21, 2026.
- Winter sales: from early January 2026 (usually the 2nd Wednesday of January).
Sales vs promotions: the difference
During official sales, retailers may sell at a loss to clear stock — so markdowns can be real and large. But the reference price is still set by the seller: a "-50%" can start from a high price. As always, the price history is the only reliable judge.
The anti-trap method
- Prepare your list beforehand and note each product's usual price.
- Compare several retailers: the gap often exceeds the markdown.
- Buy if the price hits its low, not just because it's "on sale".
Add your products to UniverTrack before the sales: it already knows their normal price and alerts you when the drop is real. See also Black Friday and French Days.
