Amazon Prime Day 2026: recap, next Amazon sale and Prime Day 2027

Prime Day 2026 took place in France from Tuesday June 23 (12:01 am) to Friday June 26, 2026 (11:59 pm), according to Amazon. The event is over. The next sale reserved for Prime members, Prime Big Deal Days (Jours Flash Prime in France), takes place on October 6 and 7, 2026, as Amazon announced on September 15. Prime Day 2027, however, has not been announced yet.

This guide recaps what happened, explains how Prime Day works, sets out the calendar of upcoming events and gives you a method to tell, next time, whether a Prime deal is genuinely a good one. Dates and times below refer to Amazon's French store (Paris time).

When was Prime Day 2026?

In early June, Amazon announced that Prime Day would return for four days, from June 23 to June 26, 2026. That was noticeably earlier than the previous edition: in 2025, Prime Day ran from July 8 to July 11. Anyone waiting for July out of habit missed it.

What Amazon highlighted this year

According to Amazon France's official announcement, the 2026 edition featured hundreds of thousands of offers across every category (tech, kitchen, home, beauty, fashion, groceries), daily themed deals and a "Vitrine Française" storefront showcasing products made in France and regional small businesses. Perks on Amazon's own services (video, music, audiobooks) were also part of the event.

What is Amazon Prime Day?

Prime Day is a sales event Amazon created in 2015 and runs in many countries. Its deals are reserved for Prime members, Amazon's paid subscription that includes free fast delivery and Prime Video, among other things. Non-members can take out a subscription or a free trial to get access; in France in 2026, Amazon also promoted a reduced rate for 18 to 24-year-olds, at €3.49 a month after a trial period.

A few things to understand before you shop it:

• It is not a regulated sales period: Amazon and sellers freely choose which products to discount and by how much.
• Not every deal is sold by Amazon: on the marketplace, many offers come from third-party sellers with their own terms.
• Lightning deals are limited in time or quantity, which pushes you to decide quickly.
• The subscription cost matters: if you subscribe only for the event, factor that amount into your real savings, or remember to cancel the trial in time.

What is Amazon's next sales event?

For several years now, Amazon has held a second Prime-only event in the autumn, called Prime Big Deal Days. In 2025, it ran on October 7 and 8 in 18 countries, France included, and Amazon announced it in mid-September. For 2026, Amazon confirmed on September 15 that the event will run on October 6 and 7, for 48 hours, in 22 countries including France and Belgium. Then come the end-of-year events, open to all shoppers rather than just subscribers:

• Black Friday: Friday November 27, 2026 (see our Black Friday 2026 guide);
• Cyber Monday: Monday November 30, 2026;
• France's winter sales 2027: January 6 to February 2, 2027, except in some départements.

When will Prime Day 2027 be?

Nobody knows yet: Amazon has not announced Prime Day 2027. From 2022 to 2025 the event was held in July, but the 2026 edition moved to late June (as in 2021, when it also took place in June). That makes it impossible to predict the 2027 timing. Amazon usually announces the dates a few weeks ahead, on its About Amazon news site.

The good news is that you do not need the date to be ready. What matters is knowing the usual price of the products you want before the event starts.

Were the Prime Day deals really worth it?

Some were, others much less so. As with any big sales event, genuine deals sit alongside discounts calculated from a flattering reference price, or products brought back to a price they had already reached a few weeks earlier.

In France, the struck-through price of a reduction must be the lowest price the seller charged in the 30 days before the reduction (article L112-1-1 of the French Consumer Code, in force since May 28, 2022). This 30-day rule curbs abuse, but an older price increase is not covered, and a "genuine" 20% off can still be dearer than at other times of the year.

Which products to watch before the next Amazon sale?

Here is a qualitative reading guide based on the usual patterns of Amazon events:

How to prepare for the next Prime Day without getting caught out

1. List what you actually need now: a few specific products, with the exact reference.
2. Note the usual price and follow it for several weeks to spot any increase before the event.
3. Set a target price: that number decides, not the countdown timer.
4. Check the seller (Amazon or a third party), delivery and return terms.
5. Compare with at least one other retailer before paying.
