UniverTrack vs Keepa: which price tracker should you choose?

Keepa is the best choice if you only shop on Amazon and don't mind reading price charts: its free version already covers price history and alerts. UniverTrack is the better fit if you also buy outside Amazon (Cdiscount and other online stores) and want an indicator that tells you when to buy, with your alerts in one place. They don't target the same audience: Keepa serves Amazon shoppers and Amazon sellers alike, while UniverTrack is built for shoppers only.

What is the real difference between Keepa and UniverTrack?

It comes down to two things: scope and interpretation.

Scope: Amazon only or several retailers

Keepa describes itself as an Amazon price tracker. It excels there, across many countries, but doesn't look anywhere else. Yet the same TV or vacuum cleaner is often also sold by Cdiscount or other retailers. UniverTrack accepts those links: you can track the Amazon listing and the Cdiscount listing of the same product and, on the Pro plan, see them grouped on one page. Interpretation: raw data or a decision

Keepa shows a lot of information: new and used prices, Buy Box, number of offers and, with Pro, sales rank and stock levels. It's a goldmine if you can read those charts, and it's exactly what sellers need. For a shopper who just wants to know "buy now or wait?", UniverTrack sums up the history in a "good time to buy" indicator and, from the Malin plan, flags misleading discounts.

Price history: which one goes deeper?

On Amazon, to be honest, Keepa has the edge: it has tracked a huge number of products for a long time and lets you look back over years of data. It's the go-to tool for checking that an Amazon deal is real, as our guide to Amazon price history explains.

UniverTrack can also show the past price history of an Amazon product. For other retailers, however, history starts on the day you add the product, so you need to start tracking a few weeks before buying to learn the usual price. That's the trade-off for covering several retailers.

Price alerts: what does each one offer?

Both services alert you when the price reaches your target. Keepa adds back-in-stock alerts with a free account, and price increase tracking for Pro subscribers, mainly useful to sellers. UniverTrack sends target-price email alerts on every plan, and back-in-stock alerts on Expert.

Does Keepa work on Cdiscount or Fnac?
No, Keepa is dedicated to Amazon stores. To track a Cdiscount product, you need a tool that accepts that retailer's links, such as UniverTrack; it does not, however, have an official Fnac integration.
Is Keepa available in French?
Yes, Keepa's website is available in French and covers Amazon.fr among other stores. The difference with UniverTrack is therefore less about language than about scope and how the data is presented.
Does UniverTrack have as much price history as Keepa?
On Amazon, UniverTrack can show past history, but Keepa remains the reference for looking back over long periods. At other retailers, UniverTrack's history starts on the day you add the product.
Is Keepa Pro useful for an individual shopper?
