Cdiscount price tracker: set a price alert and catch every real drop

The most reliable way to track a price on Cdiscount is to add the product page link to a price tracker, set a target price and get an email when that price is reached. Cdiscount doesn't show a price history and, as far as we can tell, doesn't offer a target-price drop alert on its product pages. Without a tool you're left with manual checks, which work for one product but miss flash sales and drops that only last a few hours.

Does Cdiscount have a price drop alert?

A Cdiscount product page shows the current price, sometimes a crossed-out price, the seller of the offer and any competing offers. We haven't found a button that lets you say "tell me when this drops below €250". Retailer newsletters and app notifications push the deals the retailer chooses to promote, not necessarily the exact product you're waiting for.

To be told when your product drops, you need an outside tool: a browser extension, an alert service or a price tracker you give the product link to.

Why checking the page now and then isn't enough

Prices on Cdiscount can move fast, for reasons that have nothing to do with an advertised sale:

• Flash sales ("ventes flash") are limited in time or stock. Check the page the next day and the drop may be gone.
• The featured offer changes: Cdiscount is also a marketplace, and another seller can move to the top with a different price, higher or lower.
• Big shopping events (the official French sales, Black Friday) bring a flood of crossed-out prices, which is exactly when a real drop is hardest to tell from a cosmetic discount.

So manual monitoring costs you twice: time spent reopening the same pages, and drops you miss because they happened between two checks. That cost grows with every product you add to your list.

How to set a good target price on Cdiscount

An alert is only as good as its target price. Set it too high and it fires for an ordinary dip; too low and it never fires.

1. Watch the price for a few weeks before choosing a target: you'll see its usual level and its lows.
2. Start from the lowest price you've seen, not the seller's crossed-out price.
3. Think in total cost: add shipping, which can differ from one seller to another.
4. Decide your maximum price, the one above which you won't buy, even during a big event.

A made-up example to illustrate: a vacuum cleaner moves between €229 and €259 over a month, with a dip to €219 during a flash sale. A target around €220 has a fair chance of being hit during a big event, and it stops you buying at €239 just because a banner says "−20%".

The simplest kind: you're notified as soon as the price falls below your threshold. Ideal when you know what you want to pay, for instance for a purchase you've planned for a while.

• Shipping: a lower sticker price with higher delivery costs isn't necessarily a saving.

When should you start tracking a Cdiscount product?

The smart move is to start several weeks before you buy, and especially before a big event, so you have a baseline when the discounts appear. Dates for the coming months:

• Black Friday: Friday 27 November 2026, followed by Cyber Monday on 30 November. Start tracking in October (see our Black Friday 2026 guide).
• French winter sales 2027: Wednesday 6 January to Tuesday 2 February 2027, except in a few départements (see winter sales 2027).
• Outside events: a price can drop at any time, for example through competition between sellers. That's where an automatic alert pays off, because nobody watches a product page on an ordinary Tuesday.
