The service describes itself as a free Amazon price tracker. Registration is optional: you can create an alert with just an email address. An account adds a management page for your alerts and an importer for public Amazon wish lists.

How to use CamelCamelCamel on Amazon France, step by step

1. Copy the product page address on Amazon.fr from your browser's address bar.
2. Go to fr.camelcamelcamel.com and paste the link into the search bar at the top. Double-check the "fr" subdomain: plain camelcamelcamel.com is Amazon US.
3. Read the chart: it shows how the price has moved, plus the highest, lowest and average prices.

Traps to know before creating an alert

The price shown on Amazon is not always the "Amazon price"

CamelCamelCamel's own help pages warn that many users set an alert on the "Amazon" price type when the offer featured on the page actually comes from a third-party seller. If Amazon does not sell the product directly, your alert will never fire. Check the seller first.

Some price types are hidden

In simple mode, the tool hides price types that have been out of stock for more than 90 days. To see everything, you need an account and must switch the form to detailed mode.

Delivery and the final price

The chart tracks an offer price: always check the basket total, delivery included, before buying. The site itself reminds users to verify prices on Amazon before any purchase.

CamelCamelCamel's limits for shoppers in Europe

• English only: the interface and help pages are in English, even on the French site.
